Fresh air and fresh grass
Carlton Scroop and The Bonus King can be seen enjoying the good weather. I have declared Arthurian for Goodwood tomorrow and Crimson Mitre for Nottingham on Friday.
Petition against The Gables development on Bury Road
The Bury Road is a Conservation area and the flagship road of British Racing with predominately Victorian and Edwardian houses and stables. A developer, Highland Homes, are about to build an ultra-modern block of flats, and have already chopped down over 50 trees in the process, at this site on the Bury Road.
Details about Newmarket's collective response to this can be found at www.historicnewmarket.co.uk
Yard in rich vein of form
Our good run of form continues with Crimson Mitre winning his maiden easily at Southwell (on the turf). At the same meeting Graylyn Ruby was only denied by a head-bob while at Folkestone our attempt to make all with Maximus Aurelius only just failed to pinch the race and he finished third.
Esthlos looking stronger than ever
Last years 3 time winner Esthlos is making very good progress and is pictured today on the Town Canter with Scott riding. His main target for the year will be the November Handicap at Doncaster. No doubt before then he will add to his tally of wins as he seems to be improving with age.
Newmarket in the snow
Newmarket woke up to a covering of snow. Azabu Juban seems to have come out of her race at Doncaster yesterday very well and was the loudest calling out for breakfast. Tidal Fury left early this morning for his race on Tuesday at Fairyhouse.
Tidal Fury's half brother joins the yard
We are pleased to welcome Stoneacre Gareth to the team. This imposing Grand Lodge 4-year old is a half brother to our Grade 1 winner Tidal Fury. He will have few runs on the flat before joining our ever increasing jumps team.
