Tuesday 7th November

Tidal Fury's win at Carlisle yesterday made for a party-like atmosphere in the yard today.  Nigel and the lads deserve so much credit for the work they have done with him and I'm pleased to report that they dented the profits of a certain local bookmaker.

Friday 3rd November

Pete Ramzan (seen here on the left) from our vets Rossdales & Partners is an important part of the team at Exeter House.  Pete is only a phone call away if we have a problem with a horse and we can get blood test results etc in hours.  He is seen here a scoping a horse after exercise.

Monday 30th October

Breaking in of the yearlings continues and they are learning remarkably quickly.  Pictured below is our Night Shift yearling colt who has now been ridden away and has ventured away from the saftey of the yard. The Bishop of Cashel colt was lunged for the first time today and will have a roller on tomorrow.

Gaelic Roulette and Carlton Scroop head to Market Rasen on Sunday.  Both are in top form.  Lady Nimue has been progressing very well lately and will hopefully get to the track before the end of the year.  Alhambra Banks and Ring of Destiny, both recovering from injury, are back on track and enjoying their work.

Saturday 28th October

We made probably our last yearling purchase of the sales season last night paying only 3,000 guineas for a tough looking bay colt (pictured below).  His sire is Bishop of Cashel (same as Bill Bennett) and his broodmare sire is Cosmonaut (same as Esthlos).  He is very athletic looking and looks to be a steal for the money.

Friday 27th October

The first quarter share in our grey Nayef yearling colt (pictured below) sold today. He has a lovely flowing action and is due to be ridden in the paddock tomorrow.

The breaking process has gone so well that we will be bringing in our next batch of yearlings in earlier than expected. Due to the influx of horses we have two new staff members starting next week (including our first trainee from the Northern Racing College).

This morning's schooling session went very well and Carlton Scroop, Elli Lewtia and Gaelic Roulette will all be out soon.

Thursday 26th October

It has been a succession of new experiences for our first yearlings who have now been ridden away at the stud farm.  Mary-Ann (leading on the Night Shift colt) and Steph (behind on the Daylami colt) travelled out there to ride them for the first time. No great drama but still very exciting for us all.

Leighton Aspell is due in for schooling tomorrow.  Shardia has been declared for Ayr but the fixture is in doubt because of the heavy ground.
