Friday 2nd February
Simon Holt and a film crew from Channel 4 spent the morning at the yard to film a feature on Tidal Fury to be shown on the day of the Arkle.
We also had Featherlight out in preparation for her run at Lingfield next Wednesday. Orchard House and Scott had flu jabs so will have an easy day tomorrow.
Carlton Scroop's stall-test ban ends on the 16th so we are taking him through the stalls every day in preparation - so far, so good. The Bonus King has returned to Exeter House and is making very good progress.
Monday 29th December
Today was Scott's first day being ridden in almost a year. Tidal Fury (in the background) doesn't look impressed! I have stepped up the work for Kleos and Prince Joshua and they seem to be enjoying the quicker pace.
Pictured on Scott is Faye who joined us from the Northern Racing College back in early November. Today we welcome Katie to the team, also from the Racing College. The training the College gives is excellent and anybody looking to get into riding racehorses for a living should have a look at their website at:

Sunday 28th January
Tidal Fury (pictured below) has come home fine after his 52 lengths (yes, fifty-two!) victory yesterday. It was the first race since he was a 2-year old that he did not have to travel overnight and it was good to have him safely at home so soon after the race. He is now unbeaten over 2 miles over fences and will now go straight to The Arkle Trophy at the Cheltenham Festival.
Friday 26th January
Quite a busy morning with Orchard House, Esthlos and Lady Asheena having a canter on Bury Hills. Featherlight and Carlton Scroop partnered Tidal Fury on Warren Hill before his race tomorrow at Southwell.
We introduce our two year olds quiet early to the stalls. Pictured below is Arthurian following our Nayef colt through the practice stalls at the top of Long Hill. All the colts went through easily.
Thursday 25th January
Most of the yard on Warren Hill this morning for a single canter (the 2-year old colts pictured below). Tidal Fury heads to Southwell on Saturday in very good form. Elli Lewtia will be declared for Wolverhampton on Sunday which will be her final race for us as she goes to the sales on 8th Feb.
Scott has settled in well and will start to be ridden next week. Our Bishop of Cashel colt finally has a name - Crimson Mitre.
Wednesday 24th January
One of my favourite horses Scott (pictured below) has returned to the yard to go hurdling. In his last spell with us he won two races including The Green Howards Cup at York. He is a very consistant horse who loves the game and is a brave as they come.
