Friday 2nd March
Leyton Aspell came in for a schooling session at the links. Tidal Fury and Orchard House (pictured below) schooled over fences and Bill Bennett over hurdles.
Later in the morning Esthlos led the 2 year old colts for two canters on Warren Hill.
Wednesday 28th February
Quiet warm but very windy on the heath. Henrietta Mews, Eastern Playboy, Alhambra Banks and Elli Lewtia trotted over to the racecourse side canters for a change and cantered on Hamilton Hill.
Tidal Fury worked well with Bill Bennett and Orchard House on the Waterhall grass gallop (pictured below).
Tuesday 27th February
Carlton Scroop travelled to Lingfield Park today and passed a stalls test so can now race on the flat again. He has grown up so much over the last month and many thanks to the lads at home for all their work in getting him to this point.
Our Nayef (pictured below) colt remains unnamed but hopefully not for long now he is fully syndicated. He is developing into a very exciting prospect and continues to improve daily.
Monday 26th February
So Elegant who we retired to stud at the end of last year is to visit Where or When (pictured below) at Cheveley Park Stud where he stands for £6,000.
So Elegant cost only 3,500 euro as a yearling yet went on to win won 4 races for us as a 3 year old. Where Or When won the Gr.1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (8f) at Ascot and as a 2 year old was beaten by Rock Of Gibraltar by 2 lengths in the Gr.1 Dewhurst Stakes (7f) at Newmarket.
Its strange to think that plans for our 2 year old team for 2010 are taking shape!
Sunday 25th February
At last our horsebox has been repaired and is back at home (photo below).
Despite being a Sunday, Carlton Scroop and Esthlos were ridden out today. They had a normal canter on Warren Hill before doing a piece of work onLong Hill. All went well.
Saturday 24th February
A very busy day with many of our horses doing a piece of work. We had open morning for the families of our lads and the yard was full to the brim.
Tidal Fury worked on grass Line Gallop with Orchard House and Bill Bennett acting as lead horses. Our more forward 2-year olds including the Nayef colt, Crimson Mitre and Maximus Aurelius all had a fairly quick canter on Warren Hill. All three of these horses are happy to lead the string and are now more than able to canter with the older horses.
